What is Nutrition Response Testing?

Nutrition Response Testing SM is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body to determine the underlying causes of ill health.

This testing is quite different from any other testing method that you may have experienced.  The actual procedure is simple and direct, with the body providing all of the feedback needed.  The body responds to the testing procedure reliably and consistently. This feedback is so precise that it can open the door to recovery, even in cases where everything else has failed.

The body has the potential to repair itself when given the correct nutritional support. Concentrated whole food supplements are used. These have been prepared by a unique process that preserves all of the active enzymes and vital components. Go to StandardProcess.com for further information.

Following the consultation, you will be given the results in a way that you can understand them and a comprehensive, specified plan to follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will you do or use to get reflex data?

Energy can be relayed from one body to another by contact — thus a pet’s energy will affect an assistant (indirect tester) who is touching your pet . The Nutrition Response Testing SM practitioner will contact reflex areas on your pet with one hand, and with the other hand apply downward pressure to the extended arm of the indirect tester. If the reflex that is being contacted is related to a stressed or dysfunctional area, the indirect tester’s extended arm will weaken and drop when the practitioner applies pressure to the arm.

What is next?

Following the Nutrition Response Testing SM is a process of matching the deficiencies found in the body with the specific nutritional agents needed by the body to achieve change. This is a highly individual and precise step which results in a Designed Clinical Nutrition program. This nutrition helps the immune system start the health recovery process which we then monitor over time

How soon would I notice improvement?

Although every case is different, we often see improvement begin in just a few weeks, especially those whose owners have adhered to the plan.

How do I know which supplements are right for my pet?

With Nutritional Response Testing SM , we can isolate and verify the exact whole food supplements (and quantities) your pet’s body needs. Our goal is to have your pet on as few supplements as possible, which give the most stimulation of the immune system and support for organ function.

What are “whole foods”?

“Whole food” is defined as food that has been dried without heat or other degradative processing methods. Standard Process® (our main source of nutritional products) grows the foods for their nutrition products organically and they are prepared in such a way that preserves their vital enzymes and vitamins, making them optimum vitamin-mineral products (1,2,3,4).

A good example of a whole food would be fresh carrots. Carrots are rich in vitamin A complex. A “complex” is something made up of different parts which work together. Synthetic vitamins do not contain the whole complex which is found in Nature. If testing indicates a vitamin A deficiency, we would look for a whole food nutrition product high in vitamin A complex. Whichever product tests well for your pet would then be included in your pet’s program.

We pride ourselves on only using the highest quality organic whole food supplements available. Now in incredibly concentrated form, your pet’s body can get essential nutrition from these small tablets! By restoring the nutrition on which your pet’s body was founded, it is possible to enable the body to heal itself… just as Nature intended.

I thought I fed my pet well….

Although illness may be due to nutritional deficiencies, it is likely that other factors may be contributing to the problem also, some of which may be contained in the food you feed your pet every day.

Factors which decrease the nutritive value of commercially prepared pet products:

  • Microwaving
  • Genetic engineering
  • Food coloring
  • Synthetic additives
  • Flash Freezing
  • Preservatives
  • Hormones and antibiotics (found in meat, chicken, etc.)
  • Produce grown in soil that has been robbed of its nutrients
  • Harmful chemicals and metals (such as pcb’s, mercury and arsenic)

Food products containing any toxic ingredients, or which have been processed harshly or not grown in naturally enriched soil have been robbed of much of the nutritional content.

In contrast, whole foods that have not been altered or contaminated contain genuine replacement parts for the body to repair itself.

Can’t I just feed my pet better?

There has been a drastic decline in the quality of food over the past 70 years, resulting in a nation of sick pets who are dependent on pharmaceutical drugs (you can go to Google and find the USDA annual reports).

Current food and soil conditions make it next to impossible to get all of the nutritional components your pet’s body requires to heal itself.

How long will it take for my pet to start feeling healthier?

Each case is handled on an individual basis. The majority of clients who adhere to their pet’s programs have reported noticing positive changes in the first 4 to 6 weeks. Some take longer, and some progress more rapidly. Your pet’s improvement is also directly proportional to your adherence to his program.

Does my pet have to stay on a Designed Clinical Nutrition regimen forever?

If your pet has a single long-term health problem, you may find that your pet’s body may not address this problem first. There may be a more important issue which has been hidden and unhandled. The body’s test responses will dictate the most important problem that requires assistance first. After the body handles the priority problem with correct nutrients, your pet’s next test will reveal the next most important issue.  As this happens we will adjust your pet’s program. Our goal is to have your pet on as few supplements as possible. Over time, the body will generally need fewer nutrition products as long as the basic diet is excellent. You will evaluate the degree of progress in all your pet’s symptoms after 12 weeks. Then we will be better able to predict how long it will take for your pet’s symptoms to resolve.

Good dietary habits will always be encouraged. If you continue to feed commercial processed dry or canned pet products, you can perpetuate ill health and inhibit the natural ability of your pet’s body to heal itself.

Why is it so important to stick to the plan?

In all probability it took time, inadequate nutrition and sub-optimal environmental circumstances for your pet’s health to get to the point where it is today. The sooner we start applying the program fully, the sooner he/she will derive its benefits. For you to continue some of his/her past commercial products while on the program is only going to retard or nullify the progress. Therefore, rigorous commitment to the recommendations is a must.

What are the chances for recovery?

If your pet is found to be a Nutrition Response Testing SM case, his/her chances have never been better. It is because of the accuracy of the testing that we have successfully helped over 85% of our patients with this program alone. If more than nutrition support is necessary, we will know by 12 weeks and other alternative therapeutic methods can then be reviewed here in our North Andover, MA office.
